Portishead Players are back on stage after a break of nearly two years and, to launch their new season, they will be performing a fascinating, non-stop, play by the renowned British playwright Tom Stoppard.

Take your seats, along with Moon and Birdboot, two theatre critics, as they arrive to watch a performance of a new detective play – a parody of the conventional stage thriller. Five colourful characters are stranded in an old manor house, a murder takes place and everybody has a motive.

Intriguingly, the private lives of the critics become inextricably mixed with those of the play’s characters, with unusual consequences. And all is not as it seems….

Will Inspector Hound be able to solve the mystery or will he be prevented from doing so by the murderer? Will anybody get out alive? Why not go along to find out?

The Real Inspector Hound by Tom Stoppard will run from October 14-16 at Somerset Hall, Portishead High Street. Evening shows 7.30pm, with a matinee performance on Saturday October 16 at 2pm. Doors open 30 minutes before the performance.
