The Portishead Christmas Victorian Fayre included a record number of stalls in what was another successful, fun-filled event during the town’s Christmas celebrations.
The Victorian Fayre has been running since the 1970’s and the evening is the main fundraiser for the Portishead Christmas Lights and one of the biggest events in Portishead.
More than 55 stalls were all along the High Street selling a variety of mulled wine to arts and crafts also Tombola’s and games for the children, and many of the stall holders were dressed up in Victorian costume. Various Portishead clubs were also there, selling their home made festive table displays and decorations, and there were also fairground rides and street entertainments adding to the fun.
A variety of singers and dancers from local groups, including a group of youngsters from the Youth Club, entertained the crowds, before the Barnacle Buoys took centre stage with a 45 minute performance in the Tudor Garage forecourt.
