Yatton Youth Club has been overwhelmed by the support they continue to receive from the local community, businesses, charities, groups, clubs and individuals.

The club managed to raise a whopping £35,000 in just over a year for much needed building and renovation work to the club’s base on Rock Road, Yatton. The target was £50,000 and the local community has thrown its support behind the project.

Youth and Community Worker Niccy Hook said: “We can’t say thank you to everybody enough. Raising £35,000 in just over a year was something that, when we started, felt like a pipe dream but with Phase 1 now complete it is rapidly becoming a reality.

“The difference that the start of the renovation has made is far greater than we had anticipated.

“The young people have taken pride in the youth club, they have enjoyed coming up with ideas and leading the renovation discussions, the new look has attracted new members and we have an overflow of ideas of what we could do next, to the space, and in it.”

All those connected to the Youth Club hope that the next phase will include a new kitchen and toilet facilities.
