A student from Nailsea School has won second prize in the senior (age 14 to 17) age group category of the district round of the 2017/18 Rotary Young Photographer Award.

Rose Jones was presented with a gift voucher and certificate by the Rotary District 1100 Governor, Alan Hudson.

The theme this year was ‘A Different Perspective’ and the task was to produce three photographs to illustrate that title.

Each entrant then had to provide a brief sentence explaining how each photo mirrored that theme.

Each year the Rotary Club runs a series of contests in schools to develop and encourage particular skills apparent in pupils.

The first stage is a local round where winners progress to the much larger district round which can involve contestants from more than 60 Rotary clubs.
