With Spring around the corner the local Rotary Clubs’ efforts in Clevedon are now starting to show, The 5000 crocus bulbs are providing some welcome cheer around the town and a keen club member has recently refurbished the ‘Welcome to Clevedon’ sign on the roundabout leading from the motorway.
The club also has a display outlining their work locally in Clevedon library for the next couple of weeks.
Two fund raising initiatives are also on going in the town. A number of Pubs and clubs are supporting the annual Easter Egg raffle to provide a boost to the charity funds and the club is holding another fun quiz on Friday 6th April at The Friary, Marine Hill, Clevedon.
Tickets are £7.50 per person. Ideally teams of 4. Supper is included and all proceeds go to the local Clevedon and District Foodbank to help their running costs.
For tickets phone Tony on 01275-218987.
Finally the club is proud to be able to support two local initiatives. Again this year it is covering the cost of insurance for the Clevedon First Responders vehicle and providing financial support for the Summer holiday Play schemes in Clevedon
Club President Tony Carrington said “Albeit we are not a large club we punch above our weight when it comes to supporting our local community. We are very grateful for the support of our local community to enable us to achieve so much. We will also in April be, yet again, running our public speaking competition for Clevedon School students”
